about

HUM is a study of the common utility power transformers found in every neighbourhood, and the low frequency sounds they introduce into the environment. Composed entirely from recordings of these electrical boxes, and taking the form of minimalist drone music, HUM is a paradoxical work: while the piece can be a pleasurable exploration of low frequency patterns, it is also a direct representation of a characteristic sound linked with sleep disorders, disorientation, and mental agitation in a percentage of the world population.

A limited edition cd version of HUM was originally published by Infrequency Editions in 2010.
